Devon name were actually written in kana as DA~KU, ( ~ indicates that elongation) which could be read as Dark. Darque would be a good translation name (since I believe no parents would named their children "Dark", but then again the father is quite a freak, well.....)

Julianne is really Justine (written in japanese kana as JUSTINU)
^^ hopes that help^^

Didn't know about the father/stepfather though, as I didn't want to think about it further (it's disturbing either way)

I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned this yet, and if they did, I'm terribly sorry for repeating yet again. But...

From what I can read in issue 20 of HtY, the next issue will contain the last chapter of 'God Child'. In case I'm wrong, the caption had said, "jikai, kandou no saijoukai" (sorry, my japanese display isn't working...), which I'm 99% sure means "Next up, the evocative ('sentimental'? 'emotional'?) last chapter".

Can someone confirm that? I wasn't going to buy the next issue, but if it is indeed the end...

It's believed to be the last chapter of Cain. Meaning the Count Cain series would come to an end.

But here at S-C.net we still have 5 or so more cain books to scanlate ^^;;

Most of Kafkas works were written in German, so I guess Kaori Yuki changed the names because they somehow didn't fit into her story...
Perhaps the original names would have been really difficult to write in Kanji?!

Oh god, I hope half the cast die so we can have a big angstfest ending, to balance out the AS karma (anyone else get the feeling some publishing boss pressured YK to do something vaguely happy with that one???).
Well, okay, not really.
On the bright side, more bloodhound, probably. ^^

I like the AS ending.

But I can tell you that our beloved Doctor died in the last chapter. I guess Alexis will be the next but I really pray that Riff will survive!

WHAT?! the doctor is dead?! ....crap! just when I was starting to like his creepy personality *sigh* well, I guess it was going to happen, sooner or later...It feels weird to say this when I don't know what's going on on the god child books

I also liked AS ending! all the characters have a good ending (more or less). The thing is I also like angsty endings...but I like Riff better XD!!! hope he doesn't die....

I also happen be get Riff as result afer taking the personality test, so that's another reason for not wanting him to die.

Unhappy

Noooooo! Say it isn't true!

It's really weird, but Jezebel is one of my favorite characters (even though he's very sick in the head!) and now I'm really sad. But hey, reason enough to stick around until the whole of Count Cain is scanlated, right?

Oh, well, it wouldn't be Kaori Yuki without tragedy (and/or suffering) in it, right? Yeah.

~Crystal
(still very sad *sniff*)

@Carole: Yes, and I think that is the best. It is long enough an the best story should someday come to an end before it's boring or silly. I also think that there will be a beautiful ending. I sooo hope that Riff don't have to die!

I will scan that page of Kafka so that someone can tell me if it says there stepfather or father.
